This mosaic show how M42 and Horsehead are near, two of the nicest objects in the sky. The nebulas that form M42 and IC434 (on which Horsehead proiect) are both at the same distance from us, of about 1600 a.l.. The dark nebula B33 is instead at about 1300 a.l., so 300 a.l. in front of the nebula.
