M101, Pinwheel Galaxy

The Pinwheel Galaxy, M101, is a large and faint galaxy in Ursa Major. It's viewed face on and the spiral structure is quite distorted. For a full field and full res version, click on the image. Thanks to the high resolution of the telescope and CCD, many details are visible at 100% (or even more).
