Click on the image for a higher res version

LDN1622 is a dark nebula in Orion at only 2.7° NE of Messier 78, and on the edge of Barnard Loop (see the red in the bottom-right corner). This dark nebula stands in front of a large nebula emitting mainly red (H-alpha) light. The nebula resemble a big man, with the head at right and the legs at left. The prolongation of the legs shows more dark nebulae (top part) and both degrade into a bright nebula with a pink-blue color.
In the same fields more nebulae are cataloged, such as VdB 62 and 63, and many other LDN: 1616, 1618, 1615.
