This large nebula is joined to a star cloud and both are less than 2° north of M16, the Eagle Nebula. The faintness of the nebula seems to compenetrate to the yellowish clouds of stars.
NGC 6604 is a small open cluster, near the center of the image, toward up-left. The main red nebula is LBN 72, while the small and faint parts on the upper-right part are LBN 71. Both are part of the large complex LBN 70 that comprehend also M16.
